About The Event

Join Woodlanders Forest School for a walk in the ancient woodland of Shining Cliff Wood. Winter is a great time of year to learn tree identification. Without leaves you have so many clues to look at including the bark, the form of the tree and buds. This is a really good way to get to know trees. This walk is aimed at begginers and people who are struggling with tree identification.

Prior to booking please ensure you read and agree to our terms & conditions

We meet in Shining Cliff Wood. Please see here for details of how to find us

We will walk through the woodland stopping on the way to look at and identify trees. By the end of the walk you will be familiar with our most common local tree species. Kerry Gill is an experienced woodland manager who will get you to look at trees in detail. The walk will finish with a hot drink and cake around the fire and the opportunity to talk about and look at the samples we have collected on our walk. This workshop is aimed at adults but older children interested in tree identification are also welcome.

Where every effort is made to include people of all abilities this workshop will include walking through woodland on uneven surfaces and gradients. Please phone me for a chat on 07854 239654 to discuss your needs prior to booking so we can accommodate your needs.
